Kaas Plateau – Second Visit and the most memorable one!

And the Story Continues…..With heavy hearts we returned back home but those views, landscapes lingered in our minds, and we promised ourselves to go back soon.

October 2009 : And the day came. After almost 2 months, once again, we took out our bike and drove to the road less explored. Although, after our first visit, we were now aware about the distance, time take, location, place to eat etc. With a lot of enthusiasm, hope in our eyes, and after a whole 4 hours bike drive, we finally reached Kaas Plateau. Not only the destination, but the whole journey was worth it. We were at an altitude where clouds were crossing our paths, cool breeze was blowing and the climate was just perfect. We stopped so many times just to absorb the beauty, the nature, the rain drops, the chirping of birds and couple of small waterfalls but couldn’t get enough of the gorgeousness of Mother Earth.

We reached the less travelled destination (the times when it was not on human radar) and what we saw could not be expressed in words. My jaw dropped, short of words and in awe, I was just speechless! Never saw such a beautiful setup in nature, although I am always amazed how nature never fails to surprise us with its ever changing sky colours, clouds, the shapes of leaves..aah…all the small details (which are actually not small). Haha…went to the dreamworld. Well let me tell you what I saw – that scene is still fresh in my memory. The carpet – yes, the carpet of flowers, as far as you could see and as colorful as it could get – Pink, White, Purple. The shades of nature, the colour and the ecology. I was so so mesmerised. At that moment, you just don’t want to know the name of those flowers, neither the other details, but just want to be in the awe of how small we feel in nature! It might not be making any sense by just reading, so sharing some photographs of the Kaas Plateau. See and decide yourself…if this is not heaven what is….:)

Share your views on the above photographs! As you can see there was not even a single person, no tickets, no parking hassles, no littering, but sadly now it is extremely crowded, so much so that the management has to limit the count of visitors per day. Such a sad state of affair, whenever we find a beautiful place, it is eventually ruined in some time! 😦 Anyways, here are couple of details you might wish to know….

  • Best time to visit Kaas Plateau – Late August to October (Just after monsoon)
  • Entry Fees – Rs.150/-Per Person
  • Visitors Limit – 3000 per day (1000 in 3 lots)
  • Timings – 7AM to 11 AM ; 11 AM to 3 PM ; 3 PM to 6 PM

There are couple of things which you can visit during the day trip to Kaas Plateau like Kaas Lake, Bhambawali Vajra Waterfall, Sajjangarh Fort, Thoseghar Waterfall, Kumudini Lake and more.

I hope you enjoyed the photos and virtual tour of Kaas Plateau. Looking forward to read your views.

Happy Travelling! ☺️
