Bhimthadi Jatra – A traditional fiesta!

India is a melting pot of diverse cultures and traditions. Honestly, if I start exploring India from today, will never ever be able to see it completely. Coming from the colourful state of Rajasthan to the cultural capital of Maharashtra, I have seen a vast range from food to clothing to ornaments to language and more. Feel so proud and blessed to have known it. P.S: The below photographs are combined of my two times visit to this festival.

What is Bhimthadi Jatra? – It is a single stop destination to explore, experience, soak in the culture, food of rural Maharashtra. Bhimthadi Jatra is an amalgamation of rich rural tradition, handicrafts, modern skills and entertainment wherein the moment you step in get ready to transport to a different world. In simple words, it is a place to encourage rural art, food, culture, talent, music under single roof!

  1. It’s hearening to see that you like the concept of promoting local culture and local economy through tourism.. The festival of “Bhimthadi Jatra” seems interesting, although I couldn’t find any mention of this festival when I lived in Mumbai or Pune some years ago..

    The local food you showed and the handicrafts are quite impressive..!! Thank you for bringing out this seemingly unknown festival of Maharashtra.. 🙂
